Demonetisation Loss in parts of Delhi

My father in law's hardware store in CP has seen a loss of 50% business after Demonetisation. Others in market say its down 30-50% too. What is the state of other markets in Delhi? Is GOI or Delhi Govt taking any steps to remedy this? more

I agree with Ramakant ji and Satya Pal ji and appreciate what they stated here. Remember how people gathered at Jantar Mantar when Anna Hazare ji had started his movement against corruption. And now if there is a leader, a sincere leader, trying to do what most of us wanted and wishing, why this hue and cry. No doubt some people are suffering but they should be assured that 'achhe din aane vaale hain'. One must take care of the benefits what this decision of Modiji is going to bring to we, the Indians. Sometimes we need surgeries and bitter pills to be cured of some such diseases. The demonetisation is that only. God bless all of us. more
Any personal loss / sacrifice is nothing for what all nation is going to gain. We must stop complaining about so-called ills of demonetisation. Do you think Koreans / Japanese would have behaved in this fashion in a similar situation ? Such a debate is disgusting and must be eschewed. more
Its nothing related to Black Money, There is so many easy way to control Black Money if govt interested to do that . Its just to Promote Foreign companies and Big Pvt companies. Other wise PM should not Advertise /Promot any Product other than Govt more
1. A member wrote: "The GOI had declared that targets of attack due to de-monetisation are corruption, black money, drugs money, fake currency and terrorism across the border." I think it would be fair to add "avoidance of paying income tax" to this list. 2. It is universally understood that the income tax revenue is utilized to prepare and produce facilities for the general public viz roads and highways, water, electricity and other forms of energy, support for farmers and the relatively poor, general research and development, support social and economical reforms, country's defence projects etc. etc. 3. Commerce based majorly on cash, like it has been the case in India, contributes little to the fiscus and suffocates the reform-projects as enumerated under 2. above. 4. The digitization of commercial activities is basically meant to stiffle cash-commerce and to make transactions transparent.....for purposes of income tax revenues which, as mentioned above, are the backbone of the country's general development. 5. The choice now is ours, that of the general Indian public. Do we or do we not vote for these reforms which will totally change the "tasveer", structure and stature of our country and help India re-find its "pride of place" in the international community. If this project should succeed, India shall never fall prey any time again to foreign subjugation. Now, be honest with yourselves: don't we want that? If yes, overlook this short-lived hardship, keep your eyes focussed on the ultimate goal. May your God be with you in this venture! Last, not least, let's be aware that finally there's a man in India who's dared to face odds and taken a decision which is bound to be unpopular. more
Mr Ramesh Suri; this is all theoretical. Fresh creation of Black money is going on with new currency as we read in the press daily. The old black wealth also has mostly been converted to white and has reached banks- the figure of more than 13 lakh crore deposited in the demonetised notes tells the story. All cash is not black; in India people have been in the habit of dealing in cash because plastic money culture is not there and this can not be created overnight. Gradually people will switch over. 68% of India is in villages, the situation of cash availability in banks there is very bad and has gone from bad to worse (I know it as am in touch with rural folks). Even the cash availability is much below demand in the Cities. The GOI had declared that targets of attack due to demonetisation is corruption, black money, drugs money, fake currency and terrorism across the border. No where it was mentioned that 'cash-less' or 'less-cash' is an aim of this initiative. Definitely businesses have taken serious hits as mentioned by Ms Leela Chawla. We are also adversely affected in terms of sale... more
