Dear Mr Suchet Singh,
Thanks for your comment.
Medical studies done all over the world point to the fact that Hypertension is more common in Diabetics. This is because diabetes damages the arteries and makes hardening of arteries more common due to (atherosclerosis ). Atherosclerosis causes high blood pressure, which if not treated, can lead to blood vessel damage, strokes, heart failure, heart attack or kidney failure and Retinal damage.
When it comes to preventing diabetes complications normal blood pressure is as important as good control of your blood sugar. more

Thanks Mr Rajesh Mehra for liking the post. With regards, more
It is not correct to say that all diabetics suffer from Hypertension. I am diabetic for the last 15 yrs but I do not suffer from Hypertension. That is the good point in my health. Diabetes can damage nerves & arteries( large & small). For Heart, it is the bad cholesterol(LDL), combined with Inflammation in ur arteries that the plaque is accumulated in your arteries. It has three distinct features:-1) Deposition of Plaque 2) Presence of LDL, 3) Calcification. It is commonly referred as furring of the arteries. HDL is a good Cholesterol which repairs ur areteries. Control of Cholesterol/Tryglycerides is done by statin drugs and not by Insulin or diabetic drugs. Cholesterol can never give a heart attack, it is the inflammation of the arteries which causes heart attack says Dr Dwight Lundell -- who has done more than 5000- open heart surgeries. Therefore control your sugar level first. more
