Cracker ban and GRAP enforcement failure

Last week many of you participated in the survey on GRAP enforcement success and should there be a ban on sale of regular or all crackers. Below is the survey report. We urge every member here to share this as widely via whatsapp and social media such that this enforcement improves.

GRAP enforcement levels and Cracker Ban survey

LocalCircles is escalating this to various authorities so there is fast action on both GRAP enforcement and implementing a ban on all regular crackers and strong crackdown on illegal crackers as well. more

Without doubt the RTO seems to be sharing the coordinates of people whose vehicle is over 10 years as I too have been hounded by CARS 24 to take my Tata Nano for assessment of its best Value. I told them clearly that I have no intention of selling it as it is giving me good valued usage. However every time someone new would call from their Helpline to just pressure you that you would not even get 5,000 rupees for it in another few years. I blocked about half a dozen CARS 24 numbers. Mute Question is who is compromising our privacy? more
will share in pollution circle also more
agreed. Even if 15 year old vehicle is to be banned, proper program of scrapping the vehicle should be implemented, like buy back of the vehicles by the car manufacturing company at reasonable rate (last insurance value) and heavy subsidization by the Government to buy a CNG/electric vehicle.Instead of just banning and scrapping the vehicle which will be just parked on the roadside or sent to interior areas where they will create more polution more
I would like to add further to the comments of Shri Shishir Kant that : 1. I had my WagonR of 12 yrs old having done more than 1,60,000 kms but was in perfect conditions. The pollution level till the time of disposal was well withing the prescribed limits. I understand that even after 15 yrs., the pollution level emitted is well within limits. Where is the question of banning the vehicle when the pollution level is in the prescribed limits. If the purpose of banning 15 yrs old vehicle is pollution level or something else? 2. The pollution level at any point of time or place is not because of the smooth running vehicles but because of the traffic congestion at the place. Why nothing is worked out to ensure traffic congestion does not take place. The traffic lights at ITO , New Delhi may take anything between 15-30 minutes. Surprisingly no one seems to be serious to address the problem. The easy route found by the Govt. is just ban the running of vehicle either through banning or through odd-one scheme. more
Virmani Sir, those who formulate Rules without giving it a thought would perhaps most likely even disown their parents after 15 years. more
pollution level of exhaust if within limits vehicle should not be discarded. more
