Consumer Protection Bill - AITC concerns in Rajya Sabha

Yesterday some doctor MP in rajya sabha was raising concerns about how the doctors and traders can be harassed via CP bill as officers and consumers could harass them.
He should be reminded of inclusion of Section 93 which punishes the Director General (in charge of an investigation under the Central Authority) and any other officer who exercises search and seizure powers in case of vexatious search with imprisonment and/or fine.

Rajya Sabha must clear this bill asap in interest of the consumer and disregard individual concern of vested interests. more

Doctors are also equally accountable and liable for their faults. Bill to be ammended to the effect. more
If medical practitioners practitioners conduct themselves against their ethics and oath and indulge in medical negligence, and the traders practice Unfair Business Practices then definitely the Consumer Protection Bill 2019 is definitely going to pinch and harass them for being honest and sincere towards consumers. Consumers pay them through their nose for the very high price charged. more
The time has come when ever there is disruption in Parliament, responsible member must be punished financially. This should be on similar lines as applicable to Govt Servants.A substaintial amount of tax payers money is being spent on parliament working. more
All concern has to be examined in proper prospective and no one should be harassed. more
The Bill needs to be passed in this session itself. It is already delayed much. If it has to go to the new parliament, we have to start from the beginning. It is too bad more
