Cocktail drugs to continue
Fixed drug combinations (FDC) or cocktail medicines combine more than one drug in a single pill.
Cocktail drugs have been under the scanner because a lax regulatory framework allowed several unscientific combinations to flood the market, and there are also fears that this may increase drug resistance in people.
The apex board under the Drug Controller General of India has decided to postpone the decision on banning cocktails of multi-vitamin and multi-mineral medicines.
2700 such branded drugs are out there and Dcgi fails to ban them.
One must ask who benefits??? more

There is a lot of deliberate red tapism is found in several aspects of Governance which ultimately used as a money spinners by the Politicians and bureaucrats. But unfortunately, our intellectual forums are interested in discussing only emotional and political issues. No body is serious about economic offences which are deliberate and knowingly allowed to continue. more

There had been lot of hue n cry but no concrete action wad taken by the drug regulator. All the stake holders be involved in finding quick solution to this menace. more
