Cleaning of Yamuna - Industries of Delhi killing it

Are there any projects like clean yamuna like there is clean ganga of Central govt.

Can Govt of India or Delhi Govt one of these two or both be petitioned to work on a Clean Yamuna project.

Many of us tend to buy these vegetables that are grown in yamuna flood plain which are cancer causing and toxic. 22-km Yamuna stretch from Wazirabad to Okhla, accounts for about 76 per cent of its pollution.

This 2 per cent stretch from Wazirabad to Okhla sees maximum discharge of untreated industrial and domestic wastes.

Why is Delhi Govt or MoEF/CPCB letting industries polluted Yamuna? more

I strongly object to Niharika jis statement of blaming Delhi industries for pollution in Yamuna. Without having any knowledge about a subject you should not comment on a serious platform like this. All industrial areas of our city have CETP units which means effluent from industrial areas is treated and tested before releasing it. This process is monitored by DPCC, the pollution control department. Please desist from making such unfounded comments. more
Not only industries every body particularly responsible for administration of such things are killing the river more
I agree with the views expressed by Mr Rajesh Buat and Mr Satya Pal Ratti. more
Both Center as well as Delhi Govt., spends crores of rupees every year to clean Yamuna. But do not have political will. Delhi Govt has no guts to remove slum settlements of Bangladeshi's illegal immigrant settlements who got Indian Ration cards from Yamuna flood banks. You can personally visit how they encroached Yamuna flood plains near Okhla Barrage. Due to Vote Bank Politics, Yamuna will die and Government will spend crores of rupees in books of account and politicians will pocket that money. more
