1. There are LOW Volume RO Plants available worthy of providing Potable water for roughly 5,000 people. 2. Such plants of various volumes , may be installed at the Gram/ Taluka/ village level and individuals can collect water in containers of 20/40 Litres capacity on chargeable/ non- chargeable basis depending on the circumstances. 3. Even from the same RO plants, pipelines can be laid to connect low populated areas to a common point of distribution of potable water. more
The out skirts of cities are extending and capacity of water plants are not proportional to population. Some of the causes are 1.Corruption involved in procurement and usage of purifying chemicals like Chlorine ,Alum(cakes used for purification of water)etc .2.It is well-known fact private business is flourishing by illegal activity like water selling through big water tankers. Government water sold unofficially, Private tankers through deepest bore wells. The first example results in municipal water shortage, the second example results in neighboring bore wells going dry. 3. Oldest G.I/Iron. Pipe lines rusted with leakages are never replaced with latest H.D.P.V.Pipes.(even If replaced corruption plays important role). One practical example seen is as follows. Under ground water pipe line bursts and open leakage can be witnessed on the road, the contractor brings road material and stops the leakage by laying layer of road. The neighboring multistoried complex gets water leakage through its walls in its cellar. more
Make it a priority. Its not only a need - in time it is predicted to become an issue worldwide for wars due to lack of water - hence necessary for our defence in future too. Learn and be willing to buy knowledge/equipment from abroad where needed to ensure goals are met. Watermanagement is something the Netherlands has been great at for years. more
