Cheating by AIRTEL DIGITAL TV SERVICES

I am writing this to invite the attention of all those who are using Airtel Digital TV services. I am using their monthly package. Every month before 5 days of expiry they start sending reminders for renewal, everyday. Suppose we renew the package 3 days before the date of expiry, they renew from that date for 1 month. So your 3 days they swindle. To avoid this if you wait for the last day to make a net payment, their 121 number will send you a message at night saying that your bank refused payment, kindly check with your bank. So Please check your bank account on net, before making any second payment.
Will our government departments look into such matters, or keep fighting their political games? more

The day is not far when people celebrate with vigor at the demise of Airtel, the way people celebrated fall of Bajaj & BSNL. However corrupt a business person/group might be, they should never cheat on Billing. Its surprise that Airtel is still surviving with such a billing malignancy since at least 6 years (in my knowledge). I had faced similar billing issue with Airtel broadband 5 years back. They haven't given me the bill for 3 months, sighting some technical issue. And when they gave the bill, they had changed the plan. They refused to correct the bill; i even wrote to their appellate authority. But no use. They refused to correct the bill. more  
Thanks to all of you to share Airtel Billing Corruptions experiences, now days Airtel has became much more corrupted company, they are cheating openly as we are all help less/fools, can't think of there indirect games of corrupted billings, they started rising hefty billing to customers as they should think of change their tariffs to unlimited plan for ₹1499/- so that its kind of upgrading to customers, in fact it's Airtel target of making big size of money. So please think of bringing it to notice of Government/Courts law against Airtel billing corruption. more  
I am facing the same problem from Tata Sky DTH service. Previously they are charging monthly Rs.400.00 and successively enhanced the rate as Rs. 450.00, Rs. 475.00 and to day now Rs. 485.00 without any improvement of quality of service . For a simple Rain or cloudy weather TV is blinkering and shaded with complete darkness. Tata sky helpline is worthless - when you send any message they promptly send a default common boring message and after that remained completely silence. In what way they are charging is is under complete darkness. Even if you are not using the TV program and remained out- station you have to pay the full amount . They are also very alert to send you reminders continuously through Mobile message, Internet and through TV display . In the mid of TV watching they completely darkens the program and displaying payment alert Notice . Who will check them? Govt is inert and not proactive in this case same as they are in other sectors also . more  
Hello Nair Sir, This is a problem with other DTH operators as well. I am a dish TV subscriber from last 8 years. I also have issues with the customer service of Dish TV. Frankly saying "Customer service of Airtel digital will be far more better than Dish TV/Videocon/Sun etc". The concern raised by you is genuine & i also think at times when I recharge 5 - 6 days in advance. But unable to calculate the benefit since they just say that "your subscription has been renewed till XX date" You may try putting a concern on the airtel website (http://www.airtel.in/forme/home/needhelp/) or on TRAI website (http://www.tccms.gov.in/Default.aspx). Ideally DTH operators should extend the validity from the "date of expiry". But if the time period between "recharge date" & "date of expiry" is a bonus period provided by Airtel, then they are correct in calculating the recharge date. But if "previous recharge validity date" is equal to "date of expiry", then Airtel is wrong in calculating... What ever may be, I would suggest to write a complaint on above address. Let them give clarity. I am sure they cant ignore your "written complaint". Best of lucks more
