Cheated by Flipkart company and their seller

- I am not happy with the engineer wood bed that I had purchased for 24,467 rupees on 28th July, received on 30th July through Flipkart app.Being an online purchase and not having an option to physically look at the product to determine its quality, so when the technicians from Flipkart visited my house and opened the product to install, I was not pleased with what I had ordered, neither with the quality nor with the fact that it came with so many screws and parts to be assembled. As soon as the product was opened by the technicians I called up the Flipkart company to request for a return of the product. However, I was informed that the product cannot be returned and that the seller Policy doesn’t allow for refund nor for exchange with some other bed with a durability . Flipkart company says that their seller’s policy doesn’t allow them to do so as the replaced product would also be of the same quality and features .. As an online purchase, I could not have physically checked as to how the bed was, and it was only after the product was opened that I realized it was not what I had hoped for, in terms of quality and durability. the seller ‘s representative constantly kept saying the engineer wood bed don’t last for long if we keep shifting . We are not permanent residents so I am not sure how my issue will get addressed?!?, I should have at least an option to return or choose a different product, which is not being provided to me. More so, this is not a purchase on whim. I have paid the entire amount before the bed got delivered, which clearly shows my intent to purchase a decent thing .However, if the product I purchased is not something that I want, I should/ have all the right to change it or get a refund.
There is nothing on the company's website that prohibits return of a product. There is nothing in the seller's terms and conditions stating the same . Kindly advice me . more

Yes thats very true. One must see return policy. more
I have purchased ultimate car holder from bestphonmount company online. I saw the product on face book and found it was really very usfull and I ordered the same immediately. The sent me different product. I made a complaint to the company but they said the same product was sent to you and the demo shown on face book is dramatization. They declined to send me money back or replace the product. Files complaint before consumer help line. Just be aware of it and don't ensure that the same product is sent to you. more

It is well known that such risks are involved on online purchasing because of absence of the opportunity of physical verification of the articles one intends to purchase prior to finalising the deal. Therefore, one should always prefer to go for local purchasing of atleast the costlier items rather than becoming preys of the eCommerce companies in the name of saving a few hundred bucks. You should have also gone through their 'return policy' in respect of the items you purchased. You may now require to fight a legal battle for years to get justice. more
As far as your case is concerned you check the terms and condition of that particular product again as a fresh customer. You may find some terms & conditions which may be ambiguous and you may take advantage of. Read the invoice carefully. If you can find at least one such point regarding quality, deliver or return, inform by email the dealer as well as Flipkart ,(avoid making calls) that if matter is not solved in stipulated time you will file complaint at consumer forum. You can approach any consumer forum in your city. Find it on Google. While surfing through online portals for purchases some common points should be kept in mind. I have been buying through web portals for more than 7 years but I always avoid buying product which require frequent after sales service and high on price. Everyone should have a price limit on online purchases. Costly and large items like furniture, fridge, washing machines, jewelry etc should never be bought online. Physical checking of these items is not possible. On the other hand before placing order it is better to check what is return policy and go through previous customer reviews. Going through reviews of other customer is of utmost importance. more
