Charges on Clicks

The LocalCircle CEO was presenting yesterday in the International Consumers Conference of the Govt and he touched on how by clicking on apps money is charged on credit cards in Apple stores.

I am a victim of that personally and despite multiple attempts have not been able to get refund.

Given apple store is a foreign company, we have to comply to their term but if they are charging us in India, why cant they or the seller be booked for fraud here.

Request experts and those who have had experience to advise and guide... more

Perhaps such happenings are in many areas and common people are not very aware of terms & conditions of such application. Govt. should dictate terms while permitting such platform. Once it is permitted it can't be restricted till term is over. more

As the company has office in India, they can be dragged to consumer court. more

See... any fraud which is done within the territory of India can be tried in India. In internet doman, the place of your location is your IP address from which you have gained access. You can approach the Consumer Forum as also file police complaint / cyber cell. more

I also attended this International Conference on Consumer Empowerment in the New Market 2017, but do not exactly remember the point of presentation. Anyway, if you could be more precise, may be I could get to the issue and take it up with the DoCA. I may mention that the SC has mandated in one of its judgments that any such foreign company as Apple can be hauled up for its negligent services in India. more
