Cashless transactions.

As a way to fight black money circulation Government is promoting e transactions and giving Income Tax rebate also on e transactions.

Then why does bank charge an annual maintenance charge on debit cards? HDFC Bank charge Rs.250 to Rs.750 plus tax a year. ICICI Bank charges Rs.150. SBI charges Rs.100 to Rs.300.

Only 5 transactions are allowed per month. Additional transactions are charged Rs.100 plus tax.

If Government is sincere in its attempt to promote e transactions to fight black money first it should do away with this sort of hidden charges.
