Cement prices have been increased by the industry by 40 rupees last week.
There is no regulatory body for it in the country and carteling and profiteering continues unabated.
Cement in Tamil Nadu was at 355 a bag two weeks ago and is not 400, no matter which brand you buy.
Cement companies mainpulate supply to increase prices and operate like cartel.
Will some state authority or CCI please look into such malpractices? more

Govt is impotent before corporates. Cartelization is practiced in all sectors these days including govt run oil companies. more

Cement manufacturers are Corporate bodies then it is always their final say. The Govt just turn other way. Who is govt the nethas and the babus patronised by them and that should reach the people also is been guided. So this is the circle. Then where is the common man? He is least bothered The ultimate of development is 3G and 4G(for what?) Not bread but smart phones with every body and then gas cylinders for every households, then when you go for refil then you know that everybody is in stinking soup. more

This happens every year, frequently and around monsoon. All the authorities are aware of it since they have their senses working but not taking notice, probably deliberately. more
