See attached how pricing of movie tickets 500 per seat in dec 18 continues to be the same in feb 19 though gst rates were reduced from 28% to 18% effective jan 1, 19 on tickets costing above 100 rupees.

There is only one image of the ticket , that of December 2018 . The GST Council announced the anti-profiteering rules on 18th June 2016. GST rate changed on 27.07.2017 . So after that if the traders / manufacturers had sold at old GST Rate , they should pass on the benefit of GST reduction to the customer . In this case we have a bill generated on 8.12.2018 which is after after the 27.07.2017 [of 171 rule ]. Only if we show a bill generated before 21.07.17 charging the same rate , we can fault the trader . otherwise it is a futile exercise to book the trader . Ms. the above is written with a limited knowledge and taxation , but Practical experience in " Price reduction in Pharma, way back in the 1974/75 " . But surely not to criticise your post . WHETHER YOUR POST IS RIGHT OR WRONG , BUT TAKE THIS COMPLIMENT FROM MY FAMILY . AFTER SEEING YOUR POSTS IN THE CIRCLE OF PROFITEERING , THEY HAVE STARTED TO STRAIN THEIR EYES TO SEE THE VERY SMALL PRINT ON THE PRICE SIDE . Pricing of any goods or service etc. depend on the seller based on market conditions. If the GST rate is mentioned near the MRP, then we can examine, whether profiteering has been done or not. more

In both the tickets the ticket amount is 500 and the GST either IGST or CGST & SGST has been charged on booking fee only and that is @18% only. Before arriving at any conclusion the break up of ticket amount is must so I would like to say Garima Ji that no doubt you are doing great efforts for bringing people under anti profiteering but before posting please ensure full detalis or breakup so that any concrete result may be drawn. I think with complete break up our learned members will also feel it easy to put their views and suggestions. Posts with incomplete informations has no value as far as anti profiteering is concerned. more

18% GST shown is on Conveniance fees / Internet handling fees only. The GST on Ticket price is not shown. So, if GST on movie tickets has been reduced by Government, it should have been passed on to Customer, by lowering the Ticket price. more
