Capping private Hospital profits

News reports say Delhi Govt is looking at bringing a law to cap profits of private hospital. Dont know if I agree with that as profits can always be managed, like they are in schools.

Why cant some of the poll findings of localcircles be implemented by Delhi govt? @localcircles please share your findings... more

Gupta ji I am not sure how come yoga OPD is related to the issue of hospital making undue profits. Can you please explain? more
You can't compare schools with hospitals. This capping is an absolute wrong measure. IT will lead to closure of the hospitals. ________________________________ From: Vinita Agrawal Sent: Sunday, May 6, 2018 8:27:07 PM To: bhatiakanwal@hotmail.com Subject: "Capping private Hospital ..." more
Why can't we (government) cap the price for each service and medical item? I can say this confidently because I work in the similar field. I work for US healthcare system and there exists a method of Fee Schedule. This Fee Schedule is a list of professional services with their maximum rate that can be charged by the doctors, hospitals and other healthcare staff. These maximum rates are determined by the state government in consultation with eminent medical experts, medical communities, NGOs etc. The same system can be replicated here in India as well. I don't see any challenge if the government has a will power. The cartel of hospitals will surely oppose the move as it will dent their profits. How doctors, hospitals and pharma companies fleece the patients is not a secret anymore. more
Capping Charges by Private Hospitals is definitely a step in right direction. There need to a machinery to look into it rather just resolutions. more
agreed. but better to have some check rather than no check at all. its so mighty expensive to take health care at pvt hospitals these days more
An article last weekend showed that Hospitals were making up to 1700% Profits on procedures and instruments for surgery. However to expect Delhi Government to do something on its own would be expecting too much as whatever good work they do is either stalled or stopped and then from back door the center takes the credit. LG as also various agencies are ranged against AAP which has been targeted as they humiliated BJP in Delhi Elections giving them just 2 seats. BJP achieved their revenge first by reducing Arvind Kejriwal's stature to that of a Joker...now if you see the same is being done to Rahul Gandhi as well..(character assassination).First they stalled 27 AAP Ministers by false charges of molestation and had them in custody. Perhaps a few broke and switched over to BJP...Kapil Mishra,Vinod Binny, Shazia Ilmi are some. Then they framed Kejriwal in manhandling of IAS Officer inciting the IAS Bureaucrats lobby to stop work for a few days. Swati Mahiwal (DCW Chief), Atishi Marlene (Political Affairs Committee member and spokesperson) are all distinguished and hard working people but they too have been ridiculed, trolled and stopped from doing good work. Atishi has done a wonderful job first in Education with Mr.Sisodia (Dy.CM) and also in the Mohalla Clinic (with Satyendra Jain). Those who have seen her work would vouch for her sincerity and dedication. However our Indian diaspora as also the Youth are clearly being misled and division created in religious bias. So the development plank of center will not translate as it is not inclusive of all sections but selective development on paper only. more
It's a very good step forward to check on the artificial hike in prices. Health and hygiene are a basic necessity. These should be available on minimum charges. Yes the detailing needs to be looked at and other issues which affect the health also need to be looked into. Overall a very good step. After improving the MCD schools, health is a very important factor. more
