Canteens serving food at nominal price- a misuse of taxpayers money

Many state govts after doing free distribution of food grains and pensions and many welfare measures have emptied treasuries of the state tax payers money .
With out checks, balances , audit many fake BPL families , white card holders are misusing this facility along with free Health cards .
To add to this misuse the state govts have started canteens which serve free food or items of food at subsidised prices for populism. Such vote bank tricks must end.
This is sheer misuse of public money.Once free grains and a lot of other doles are given why this wastage of money .The common people who can afford are also using these canteens at subsidised rates.
We are turning people in to parasites who live on govt!
Central govt has to bring a law that only during nationalcalamities such free food can be distributed .
Audit the govts and fix the wastage and charge them for misuse of public money. more

I think quite a good percentage of Govt earning goes in to subsidies and for the welfare measures. How much of this really reaches to the needy? And how much goes to the unscruplous elements.Because of vote bank politics no body is serious in correcting these things. more
Appreciate the comments made by MR Ghosh, thanks It’s very helpful comment more
Government must introduce third party audit and food must be delivered to the needy persons only not to the people who are above poverty line. more
Until and unless Audit Firms working under the umbrella of Government,do not become alert and efficient, effective, and, unless we connect all the governing locations and get computerised,(On line operations),thereby, receipt and supply, routine daily process movements get recorded,we will not be able to address mass corruption in respect of a]BPl mismanagement b]Over food supply c]Dummy records and duplicate actions benefiting the corrupt people further. d]etc etc etc.The List is exhaustive. We,as an Indian, have to be absolutely corrupt free, and,to day it is only possible by the effective and efficient software system, which will bring wrong doers on the book.Further,we need a strong punitive actions and we need to punish them severally, who cheat the process, people, and, finally,The Nation. The legislation, inspection by individuals ,etc will not help at all or it may help at a speed, which might take many many years to come. We,as a country, are very strong in our IT contributions, and, the advantage should be puuled by the Government,at a rocket speed. The present Government as,I am observing, sure it will happen very very fast. Let our Organisations such as Infosys,Wipro,TCS, Cognizant etc work towards making our Country-a developed nation. With the Due Respect to his excellency the Prime Minister,we need every state,to be headed by the Able and Uncorrupt Politicians. We need the Professionals from IIT and IIM to join the Government. more
Purpose is very noble , but the process of utilisation of facility is not honest. Administration and political will to perform honestly is the key issue. Free service of any kind is not desirable for long run. Objective should be every citizen, every institution be economically sound after a defined time frame , to sustain these facilities. more
Yes, food at canteens of Parliament and Assemblies is never a welcome move for normal citizen. It is a shame on our MPs and MLAs getting food at subsidized rates as a representatives of citizens where millions of people are hungry and don't get proper food..... Our representatives should leave this VIP status and adopt the status of a citizen..... more
