Call to Boycott English papers like TOI and HT

I have been literally keeping track of the public and consumer centric articles that appear in Hindustan Times and Times of India New Delhi and Over the last 3 months i have found less than 10 of these.

If in the whole paper where other than news (inform) they have atleast 20 stories each day or 1800 in a 3 month time frame, just 10 public centric stories it tells me that these papers are either in hands of lobbyists or business man or politicians or all but definitely not aam aadmi who is their primary audience.

As a show of protest, i and 25 of my whatsapp friends are all unsubscribing these 2 newspapers from April 15th.

If you also feel the same way, please do so. If you feel the opposite, please share logic. If u feel
Neutral, do ponder, ask and if possible act. more

Transformation and transition are natural phenomenon, bound to happen. The quality of presentation of daily news in various Newspapers like "The Statesman"and in weeklies like "The Blitz" during seventies cannot be found now. Reasons :- (a) Emergence of TV channels (b) Change of people's mindset (c) Earning revenues by Newspaper Houses mostly controlled by Corporate World (d) Surveillance of Govt Watch Dogs (e) de-valuation of humanity (refers to common public such as low middle class people, daily wage earners, etc. and (f) Wrath of law enforcing agencies on Reporters/Newspapers Houses for bringing out the truth and criticism. Criticism is essential for healthy democracy but on ground "bringing out truth" and "criticism of certain decisions" in editorials or in any form is construed to have breached "security of the country" and branded "anti-national". Under such circumstances, for survival of Newspapers Corporate Houses have to follow the tunes set for "gentlemen". more
I have to tolerate the Toilet Paper for one more year as I have paid them. I asked them to refund my subscription which they are reluctant to do. more
Absolutely...hijab row reveal their true face ...objectifying women by covering them head to toe just because men couldn't see them...but no such dress code for men....we should go for reforms in Islam but English media did opposite....they supported the logic that women should cover themselves to avoid men....Ladke toh ladke Hain... more
Absolutely, agree with you 100%!! These vultures are there only for political lobbying and more importantly for advertisement revenue. They care two hoots for public interests and public good. All of us must shun them and stop reading/subscription to these news papers. But then, some people can't help buying these news papers for their "ruddi value" !! more
Absolutely.Stopped these English papers long back and have switched over to Hindi Dainik Jagran more
