Budget - our perspective

Some time back there was an effort made to collect information (basically suggestions) regarding our view on the budget and the impact we would have liked to have in the budget. Unfortunately, all those suggestions were just for the sake of asking. No suggestion have been taken into account. If this is going to be the case, then why have local circles at all ? None of the suggestions provided have even been thought of or debated/discussed, leave alone implemented. There were so many discussions on the need for the income tax slabs to be extended (meaning tax reduced) including doing away with income tax altogether, but none of that has happened. Basically, the budget has become an event for the media and the politicians to be busy and keep the country 'engaged' in discussions. The corporates have always gained and this year was no exception. more

Though it was a good budget on other aspects however FM completely ignored middle class salaried citizen. Inflation has devalued rupees by 10 times in last 10 years however tax slab remains the same. more
What was the expectation of the corporates other than tax reforms. This would earn them more profit. more
corporates have not gained other than tax reforms. more
Basant ji - have you studied it in full and seen the direction of the budget. I see the local circle post and they are right, We voted for infrastructure, roads and irrigation as priorities. Where I think the FM didnt do a good job is tax reforms for middle class like exemptions etc and introducing cess, surcharges for upper class. That will bite. It is a common man's budget Also I am very happy that the Govt is serious about tax reforms like eliminating human interface by making even scruitny electronic. more
