BREEDING OF DENGUE MOSQUITOES IN DRAINS.

Copy of news in times of india dtd 19/09/2015 is attached .It is surprising to know that the advertisement in news papers & on hoarding by MCD HAVE NEVER mentioned the drains as the possible site of dengue mosquito breeding.Mcd needs to give a clarification immediately as to whether news is correct & if so whether to look for breeding in drains is responsibility of public or there are any drain breeding checkers who are checking breeding in drains. In the mean time people should make some diesel flow in to covered or uncovered drains as dengue mosquito is the cleverest mosquito & can enter a covered drain with minnute holes.Drains or the portion of drain which is under the shade of a tree/wall is more likely to have breeding & should be treated on priority. more

There is storm water drain. As per rule, storm water drain should not be covered but private builders beside the drain are covering the storm water drain and utilising it as their private property. A complaint has been lodged awiating action. more
It is heartening to note that group members are helping the residents. Myself Dr. A. K. Saxena R/o B-9/6258, Vasant Kunj. The storm water in our block, particularly behind our flat block is blocked since years. The complaint to DJB & MCD corporator went unheard resulting water stagnation- creating mosquitos breeding grounds. B9 RWA also approached local corporator number of times. Today I had gone to DJB office near DDA play ground opposite B-1. The officials informed that this does not come under their preview. I should contact MCD. I also spoke to area JEN. It's surprising that the officials don't know to whom to contact. Three agencies DDA, MCD & DJB are responsible for infrastructure maintenance. As a result each one pass on bucks leaving residents to suffer. The politicians stake tall claims just for their vote bank. No doubt the rise in Dengue cases may not be due to negligent behaviour of officials, politicians. I would be happy if someone in the group can help. Dr. A. K. Saxena more
Thanks Sanjeev Bhatnagar ji for supporting me. By drops of water a bowl can be filled up. more
