Make muserums interesting and care as europe does. Open all historical places, advertise then, make available budget hotels. We dont need luxury hotels It is high time govt planned on lines of motels as in western countries. Boost home stays. Those with big home can offer tourists place to stay with due security measure in place. This is seen in ganpati pule at matheran cochin etc. Attract the middle class which is big source to garner tourist inflow and money. more
There is lot of tourist places in India and country can convert this into big source of income as the whole world is very keen to visit India. But same is not happening is just because few small problems and issues. Here are some points - Level - 1 1. Govt first should identify the list of tourist places (This list could be selected in start). 2. All identified tourist places management should be under single body of central govt. 3. Identified tourist places must be well connected with each other with AC transport. 4. There should be proper roadmap to cover all tourist places. Level - 2 1. Identified tourist places should be very clean. 2. Identified tourist places should have one small office with place guide document and security majors, first-aid kit etc. 3. On tourist request, place guide should be available. Level - 3 1. Identified tourist places should have small canteen and emergency medical shop. 2. All items at tourist places should have fixed rate define by central body. 3. There should be 0 possibility of corruption at all tourist places. 4. Major tourist places should have well accommodation and connected with Railway Station or Airport. more
Sir, The Coastal States increase their financial conditions by commencing inland water ways navigation and develop hinter land facilities presently they are operating Road transport Corporations and also undertake the liquor business directly instead auctioning just like Tamil Nadu TASMARK establishment for preventing spurious alcohol and tax , excise duty evasions and augment financial resources. LTC Rules for Govt & PSU employees could be made more flexible and attractive .... presently there are far too may "ifs and buts"! more
Tourism is to be treated as one of the profession. The following is suggested :- 1. Include tourism as one of the graduation topic. 2. To start with Govt is planning to give OROP for the defense personnel, instead a disciplined and experienced soldiers are readily available for the govt to readily employ them as a lot many of them retire at very young age. This will help these soldiers to fetch a job and also for the govt to reduce the burden on their wages. These soldiers can be trained and employed in their home places/ etc . A trusted workforce, disciplined and they have the benefit the multi language knowledge, who can carry the policies and spread the flavor of indianess. 3. Govt must ensure turist taxi, which has GPS inbuilt (tieup with automobile industry to ensure this). Self driven vehicles (2/4 wheelers) to be made available for the tourist who like to explore themselves. 4. More govt / tourist approved road atlas / maps area specific to be made available. 5. Accomodation can be pooled in from the residents also who can offer a room etc. The standard for the living rooms can be finalized and modalities for giving to tourist etc can be worked out with civil authorites to iron out the fear from both the sides (tenant/ tourist and owner) 6. Tourist Information guide must be made available. 7. End to End conducted tours must be legalized with standard packages with out any hidden agendas. This need to be approved by Govt agencies so that there is no foul play. Presently a large number of tourist packages run by private companies are non standard and has a lot of issues including false promices, etc. more
