Ayurvedic medicine for Covid

While a lot of effort and research is being made by the Allopathic scientists towards finding a vaccine and medicines for COVID, can Ayurveda be also given some importance?
Ayurveda has been around for centuries. If the ministry of Ayush could identify experts in the field of Ayurveda and have them work with ICMR, there might be some chances of finding a medicine in Ayurveda. No business (especially the self titled yoga gurus) or individual should be allowed to advertise their products with claims (true or false)
Definitely, Ayurvedic medicines give lot of immunity.
English medicine manufacturers may not like this, but so be it. more

Now that there is fair amount if information on the scientific structure of the virus and some symptoms, it might be the right time to get Ayurveda into the picture. In my opinion and experience, Ayurveda may not be able to diagonize a problem. But, one diagonized through the traditional methods of today, it can be used for treatment. The big question - Who will bell the cat? (i.e. the govt. authorities) to make this happen. more
Agree with you. Ayurveda is a proper science & we cannot follow it blindly as if there are no side effects. Ayurveda is a personality oriented science. What is good for A the active human may be harmful for B,sedentary human Example is Ashwagandha being promoted as Prevention for Corona. It is one among many blood thinners & carries a Warm Taseer If combined with other natural blood thinners like Ginger/ Haldi/Jeera/Ajwain/Nigella-kalonji etc- Internal Bleeding can happen as a Stroke/Silent Heart Attack and More Bleeding in women. more
I fully agree with you Mr. Padmanabhan. Our traditional medical system like Ayurveda was far advanced than allopathic. Need is to relook at it and fine tune the same. more
The idea of ICM4 conducting research and treatment personnel in ther Panell is a very good idea worth pondering over . The Sidha medical team in Tamil nadu has started treating Covod19 cases ,successfully . This cant happen without any stuff . A fair chance has to be given . The best way to promote is the ruling party Ministers, MLAs politicians who are Corona infected should get treated first here instead of rushing to posh hospitals . Alternative medicine should also adopt lusing ife saving equipments like Ventilators when the conditions become serious . more
Ayurveda, Homeopathy and many more systems of medicine have successfully treated conditions like the common cold or flues and increased immunity. You are correct Big Pharma [not English medicine] has a stranglehold on treatment, research, health insurance and funding into any disease and no one medical modality should have such control over the citizen's lives and remove the right of freedom to choose, especially in a Democratic country. more
