Avoiding water related diseases - 5 tips

5 simple yet effective tips that one can take to evade the several water-related diseases that strike during monsoons season.

1) Don't just boil water, but also keep it in closed containers. After you have boiled water for minimum 20 minutes, do not keep it in an open jar to cool down. That ways, it becomes more prone to re-contamination yet again with certain air-borne bacteria.

2) Choose the right water purifier, by asking a water expert to suggest the right water-purification technology, depending on the kind of water that you get at your place. Unless the purifier is suited for the water, it will not be able to purify the contamination.

3) Ensure that your purifier retains the balance of essential minerals such as calcium, magnesium and zinc etc.

4) Did you know that for 1 glass of drinking water, RO technology uses 7 glasses of water? If you use RO water purification even when it's not required in your area, you would get 'de-mineralized water' while also suffering water wastage.

5) If you order water from vendors, make sure that the containers are sealed. Also, ensure that you get your purifiers serviced from time to time so that they don't lose their purifying abilities.

These are small but effective steps that would save you and your family from water-borne diseases when implemented. more
