Aviation Min Cracks Whip on Nepotism in Civil Aviation Ministry
Apropos of cracking whip by Civil Aviation Minister Mr.Gajapati Raju on DGCA, AAI & others. I would like to congratulate Him, coming heavily on such heavy weights, under the leadership of PM Mr. Narendra Modi. I have spend all my life in civil aviation industry of India and seen corrupted bureaucrats Including DGCA Chief. 90 % recruitment in Air India, Erstwhile Indian Airlines & now private carriers taken place on base of Nepotism. More than 50 % pilots are illegible to their post. Hence I would suggest that DGCA should be brought directly under Chief of The Air Force and no pilot licence should be issued without C.of A.F. signature. Enquiry panel under Ex-Supreme Court Judge should be formed, in which minimum 5 nos of members should be from India Air Force & rest 5 from Government Body. Thorough enquiry of past minimum 30 to 40 yrs. civil aviation sector to be carried out. Book & punish the culprits if they are still alive. Nothing is impossible in the world, only one has have a will power. more
Our Prime Minster has taken a wise step by stopping appoint of kith and kin as PA and OSD by his minsters. This would certainly stop nepotism and corruption. His decision of disallowing individuals who have served ministers in the prior UPA regime, to be appointed as OSD, is another wise move. These OSD’s act as brokers and wheeler dealers and as they have the ears and access to ministers become the conduit of folks seeking favours. The usual practice is to take a sign on amount from favour seekers upfront with a commitment to get them the required favour from the concerned minister. Balance payments are received in installments based on the progress with the last large installment coming up on final approval. At any given point of time, there would be large number of such favours awaiting approvals at various stages. If these same characters were to be re-appointed, they would be under tremendous pressure to meet their commitments from the current NDA regime too, which would taint this one too. I have personally heard of an instance where the PA of a mister in the UPA government would collect huge amounts of money to clear some business venture guise as socio-business venture and camouflaged in the garb of NGO. This concerned PA was not only acting as conduit for getting clearance from his own minister but even from other ministries. I am unable to blow the whistle and lodge a case for want of any documentary or tangible evidence, but if approached I can reveal the names of the concerned ministry and the so called NGO. more
Verify the records of all the pilots, and technical staff, test their efficiency pertaining to Air India/Indian Airlines and remove the fraudulent ineligible and incompetative.Because they will be playing with the life of the passengers. more
Glad that skeletons have started to come out. Nepotism is there across all departments. This is the reason why there are no whistle blowers from within the departments. more
