Another Reform Required after GST

PM should initiate a bigger Reform in the Salary, Perks and Pension enjoyed by the Members of Parliament. Following issues need attention:

1. No Tenure / No Pension: Parliamentarians collect a salary while in office but should not receive any pay when they're out of office.
How can they get pension after 5 years of service, when even in Army, Soldiers need to put thrice as much for minimum pension and 20 years for full pension

2. Parliamentarians should purchase their own Pension plans, just as all Indians (except Government employees) are advised to do.

3. Parliamentarians should not be allowed to vote a pay raise for themselves.
Their salary could be linked to the CPI and decided by President in consultation with HRD Ministry.

4. Parliamentarians should take Mediclaim Insurance policies like their voters.

5. Parliamentarians with tainted records, criminal charges & convictions, past or present should be summarily banned from the parliament and fighting election for the life time.

6. Parliamentarians should abide by all laws they impose on the Indian people.

7. Retirement age should be 60 for Members of Parliament too. This will provide opportunity to Indian youth to enter parliament.

8. Serving in Parliament is an honor, and should not be turned into a lucrative career.

The Founding Fathers of our Constitution, envisioned citizen legislators, so MPs should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work they were doing. more

The political will for this is missing. The need to recall MPs, MLAs, is another issue, which needs to be addressed. The Governers with non political back ground only, should not be considered for the post. The free accommodation to MLAs/ MPs , Ministers after their tenure is over, should be withdrawn immediately. more
Thank you Sarmaji. more
Reforms in Parliament and Legislating Houses in the issue of Business Resolutions and the Remunerations , perks , benefits , concessions , After Term liabilities on them to the Nation . The process is to be addressed keeping in view the Status of general public , Private Sector Employees , and the Fundamentally Essential Directive Principles in terms of their application and implementation . This issue is the need of the hour since neglected decades together . more
Parliamentarians -- not at all educated and with benefits much more than an average highly qualified person, WHY ? On top of all this they do not atttend the sessions in full. They come at liberty sit at liberty and do all that they feel like throwing shoes and shouting . Nonsense. Why do they get all the benefits of computer free telepone free electricity and so on. They all are enjoying huge amounts much beyond their capabilities and responsiblities. Henceforth they must be graduate and be paid like salaries based on their responsibilities only. more
