Although I am not a Cancer Patient but I have seen many of my Family Members & Relatives facing the agony due to this dreadful disease & finally meeting the end with the horrifying effect for all. It is very well said that if it is diagnosed in the initial stages then it can be cured but in 95% cases it is diagnosed when it is in the 2nd or 3rd stage & survival is very difficult. I have also seen the miracles when Doctors had told that the patient will life for not more than 20 days but now she is hale & hearty. Although the husband who took all pains to get her treated at Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai died of Cancer within 3 months of the diagnosis. Tata Hospital told the wife that it had spread so much that even Chemotherapy won't work. Personally I feel that our body does give us indication that something is going wrong but initially we do not pay attention, we ignore it & think it is the normal problem like pain in any part of the body, gastric trouble or indigestion. Only when vomiting starts or weight gets reduced appreciably then it alarms the bell when it is too late. I think the remedial & precautionary measures would be to have full body check up at least quarterly & if sudden & notable changes are observed then without wasting time should contact the proper Doctors proficient in their fields. One should not forget the experience gained from the friends, neighbors, relatives etc. to bring in practice. This will appreciably reduce the persons having Cancer. more

I am associated with Snehaanchal, hospice & palliative care center for terminally ill cancer patients.
