Addressing the Skill Gap

Issues listed are broadly correct. However, there is a fundamental issue -- who is going to be in the driving seat for resolving these issues -- central government, state government, municipal entities, schools/colleges/universities or user industries/organisations. Further what can you realistically expect from the bureaucrats, street smart politicians/elected political representatives, current crop of 'academic bureaucrats' with no expereince of running any enterprise? They have not been able to deliver over last seven decades! If they were successful then this won't have been an issue on top of every one's mind!

You need to think out of the box and come up with practical solutions for:

1. Identifying specifics skills where there is a shortage and requires special training inputs, who can best provide these skills, resources needed.
2. Need to keep watch on the changing trends of skills required due to fundamental changes in the country's economy and industries needs.
3. Develop a nimble institutional infrastructure for identifying and supporting development of appropriate delivery mechanism including its funding -- capital/one time and running expenses. more  

1. Suggestions to farmers in Conventional & traditional cultivation coupled with Scientific Skills in research now in local Radio and T. V. Channels is to be linked with the State & Central Research institutions. 2. Practical approach and training in Educational institutions both on Arts and Sciences including Engineering Technologies shall be well planned centrally and programmed . 3. The Schools and convents though exhibit English medium, never followed the basic minimum English grammar and any Schools even cared the perfectence of the regional mother languages since last 20 years and is because of the lack of knowledge in the teaching Staff and is strictly to be reformed even with the weapon of cancellation of the educational license. [ It is really a shame on the part of the governments that neglected the educational field so even at the Article in the constitution & The then Knowledge Skills and Talent in India that was before the award of independence.] 4. Governments have to energize necessary R & D and quality standard in all the fields of existing manufacture with a goal to utilize natural resources at maximum level. 5. Utilization of Skills in Engineering & Scientific field with foreign collaboration utilizing Made in India and imported items like various components & handling tools is the activity that helps our Skills and Skill development as already envisaged earlier earmarking the profitable produces . 6. Intellectual Skills to be increased through Skilled and talented Teaching Staff which was ignored even by changing the subjects in the Syllabus since last 20 years. 7. There is much laps of subject knowledge at the instance of simplified common selective exams based on bit questions and needs to see that it carries only 25% that brings-up only subject oriented students to qualify. 8. On the whole, there are lapses in the Skills of Teaching Staff in Schools and Colleges whether Govt. or private and this is one main cause of the Skill gap in India & is to be reformed with possible tests/shuffling methods. 9. ITI ; Polytechnic ; Engineering ; and Scientific Educational institutions shall be both subject and practical oriented with sufficient seminars, training programs and practicals, and the syllabus shall be periodically revived to meet the changing demands and technologies . 10. The Common people in the towns and Cities and those clever in Rural areas having insufficient earnings could not go for education beyond 10 th or Inter though do have grasping & analyzing power of mind and this the main one cause of the Skill gap in India . 11. There are so many undergraduate but technical brains already using their Skills in Electrics and Electronics attending repairs , services and such of these could be utilized in assembling and manufacturing activities in motor , automobile , electric and electronic Equipment . 12. The absence of manufacturing and processing activities in so many districts is the another main cause of Skill gap in India which now is to be hiked arresting any further marketing enterprises since the existing could be used to cover the new products while leaving petty & daily products to only Street Shopping. 13. The Proposed plans under foreign collaboration in various Engineering , Scientific and defence Fields shall prefer to technical Skills required for the job and the qualification be at 40 scoring in selecting the candidate. 14. CONCLUSIVELY ; TALENTED SKILL SHALL BE PLANTED IN TEACHING & TRAINING STAFF; SUBJECT KNOWLEDGE SHALL BE SCORED AT 60% for admissions/posts ; PROFESSIONAL I.Q. SHALL BE SCORED AT 60% IN ALL FUTURE EMPLOYMENTS WHETHER Govt. OR, PRIVATE BESIDES AIDING THE LEADING more  
The skill Education starts from 1 Vocational School 2. Vocational Training Institutes 3. Polytechnic Courses 4 Engineering (Graduations and Post Graduation) If we see the Syllabus of all these Institutes and the Present Senario of Industry/World Technology going on, there is a Vast difference. more  
This is the prime precise of the way to address the Skill gap and really, the question is to be pre answered by fixing organizing responsibility & monitoring . more
