Addressing Communlism - Inputs on Issues and Root Causes
Dear Friends:
Our Hon'ble PM said during his independence day speech " Lets resolve for once in our hearts and put a moratorium on all casteism and communalism for 10 years and march to a society free from all such tensions"
In that order, we request every member to give inputs on Issues and Root Causes of Communalism through this post.
Post that, we will create a separate discussion on Solutions Identification which we will submit to the Government for action.
Let us all work together to address this issue so we as a country can move beyond it.

I think communalism crops up only when there is some clash of social nature so we need to have social mechanisms to address them locally through meetings and declaration of personal friendships by leaders in all communities to build an atmosphere of mutual friendship . Imagine if local Mullah, priest, temple pujari, sikh guru all publicly declare personal friendship and meet each other and let people see that, it would build simple local relationship and build confidence. more

Education is the main way to decrease communal hatred. The school curriculum should be based on humanity and should have emphasis on patriotism and our civic responsibilities. This kind of education should be mandatory for every child starting from elementary school. The schools should have children pledge that they will view every human to have equal rights and to serve our country. Going to school should be mandatory and ration card supplies should be linked to attendance. There should be adult schools also on weekends teaching humanity. Girls should be educated as they pass on the education to their children. more
