Acute shortage of water - control real estate expansion needed.

Urbanisation was a welcome measure earlier but of late it is the curse of the century .Unabated migration from rural areas in search of lively hood and business interest, unsustainability of agriculture as a profession, unabated building activity, plundering of natural resources
like sand from its natural location, drilling of tube and borewells has led into precipitous fall of water table resulting in acute water shortages for drinking purposes.
Water wars are expected in the next thirty years globally but skirmishes have already started between states for the share of riparian waters .
Urgent review by central govt is needed by the following steps.1- stop further urban constructions of housing,2- stop permission to convert fertile agricultural land to real estate ventures3-stop sand mining ,provide alternate material for constructions4 -wastage of precious water usage can be curbed by banning water for swimming pools, jet washing of vehicles, stoppage water for carbonated drinks, recycling of used water
5- inspection and tagging of location of borewells and tube wells to stop further multiplication6-Ban on selling of water from water bodies by private individuals.
7- provision of water plants in fluoride affected areas as priority
8- water kiosks must be run by govt to provide at nominal price per litre in all areas .
9- Prevention of pollution of rivers and water bodies by coordinating with NGOs and willing citizens
The governments which cannot provide clean drinking water for its citizens are not worthy to be elected. more

I have seen while driving in Maharashtra borewells being dug in dry riverbed sos and used to steal water into tanker for sale.shocking !what is the state authorities doing ? more
Such drawing in Summer for Animals and Drinking is in use BUT NOT LIFTING OUT THROUGH TANKERS

Statutory mandates are required TO CONSERVE , PRESERVE WATERS BRINGING LIFE TO TANKS , PONDS , STREAMS ;; FORMING NEW CANALS AND RESERVOIRS;;;; STRICTLY ENFORCING DTCP AND UDA NORMS.

PENAL PROCEEDINGS ARE NECESSARY IN THE ISSUES OF LIVELIHOOD ESSENTIALS. more
Root cause is setting aside District Industrial Development Centers since 90s. Growth of Districts was ignored opening GRATES FOR GULF etc from '95. This is why BJP Programmed Development of Districts. BUT THE CONGRESS DID NOT COOPERATE IN Parliament for number of INFRASTRUCTURAL Bills. DECENTRALIZATION SHALL RE-START FROM NEXT YEAR on getting Majority in Rajya Sabha. Meanwhile , District Development Councils shall be starred incorporating 'NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL ' with Constitutional Powers at Center TO PAVE PATH FOR OVERALL DEVELOPMENT PROMOTING DECENTRALIZATION. As I already reiterated, Urbanisation shall be capped at 9 KM radius immediately MANDATING LIMITS OF LIVELIHOOD INFRA Like Water , Drainage , Breathing Air , Vegetables , and , POLLUTION. City Development shall not challenge Livelihood Infra and the very LIEF Articles. more
Very relevant point .Thank you . more
Roads and over bridge construction and building construction require water in huge quantity and Municipal corporations earn a lot of money from rain water which is very good earning money from free rains. It is necessary to have very very tall buildings in all cities, so our GDP becomes first like Sachin Tendukar and Virat Kohli. We need crowded roads to be filled with cars and trucks then we get lot of revenues and more traffic jams means we can get more money from helpesss drivers for helmets and papers. More vehicles on the roads means we burn more petrol and diesel then we get more and more taxes and people spend all they have on running around for Aadhar card and Pan card and completing new and new formalities. Then petrol pumps can earn a lot of money and prices of essential goods become more and more leading to many people going hungry and more beggars in the roads. Make new and new rules in GST so most of the businesses close down slowly. more
Gross negligence in enforcing DTCP and UDA constructional and layout Norms of Water Harvesting and Tree Plantation is the PRIME root cause.
Second is the neglect of Municipal Administrations as well as Citizens in neglecting surrounding Earthen Open Place within the compounding Boundaries of their Houses / Apartments . more
