Presently President of consumer court is to look after administration of consumer forums which is not working well because of over work and pending cases . President is to make orders and finds no time to look after day to day administration .Reader is over busy with case files . Public at large do not get even information due to this system . State commission and National Commission is well organised due to one responsible post of registrar where as District consumer fora must be equiped with system to respond promptly
Ministry may think over it and much things will be improved

Consumer Courts are quasi judicial body, they should not give any adjournment to any party like in the RTI Act. more

Fixing the MAXIMUM number of adjournment allowed may be helpful in reducing the pending cases. This is required in all the courts including consumer court. The present system of unlimited adjournments leaving clints at the marcy of the advocates. Some times clints even do not know why adjournment is given. The British sytem of holidays need to be replaced by the present holiday policy of India. If the British system of holidays is essential then we may consider the system of no holidays to the court but part of the manpower can avail holiday on rotation basis while court functions without holiday. more

This is very correct that it is the forum who has to follow the procedure under section 13 of the act in summery manner but advocates are obliged by giving adjournment whereas complainant standing in person even fails to understand what has happened and why adjournment more

The increasing volume of work is not due to absence of Registrar i the `forum` but the attitude of the FORUM itself. There is no provision of adjournment of hearing in the CPA. Contrary to this, the Forum readily allows unlimited adjournments on the request of the advocates appearing on behalf of both the sides. They take care of the convenience of each other.
