A good piece of writing in TOI by one Mr S Bala

My wife asked me this morning over breakfast: Everybody is returning something or the other to the govt to protest growing intolerance. Why don't you also return something? Otherwise what will the neighbours think.
Bala: But, I really don't think that intolerance is growing. In fact, I feel there is growing tolerance.
Wife: You mean to say that Shah Rukh Khan and 123 others who returned their awards are fools and you are the only smart one?
Bala: Listen, in Kashmir 3.5 lakh Hindus were thrown out and we tolerated that. In Kerala, the hand of Prof Joseph was chopped by Islamists in front of his students and we tolerated that. Lakhs of Muslims migrated from Bangladesh and have swamped Assam and we tolerate that. Muslims do not want a common civil code and we tolerate that. And you say we are intolerant?
Wife: The media never reported all these things. So how they can be true?
Bala: That exactly what I am saying. On Oct 9 , a youth, Mr Poojari, was chopped to death in Mangalore because he opposed an illegal slaughter house. Indian Express reported it only on Oct 21.
Wife: Why is the media doing like this?
Bala: We are a secular country, you see. Any atrocity committed on Hindus is not to be reported. It is not politically correct.
Wife: Why? Aren't Hindus also citizens of this country?
Bala: You see they are supposed to tolerate everything.
Wife: It is because millions of Hindus watch their movies that Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan rule Bollywood today and have made thousands of crores.
Bala: There was a time when a Yusuf Khan had to change his name to Dilip Kumar and a Mehzabeen Bano had to change her name to Meena Kumari to be acceptable to a Hindu audience. But, all Muslim actors are now accepted with open arms with their real names. It's a different matter that one of them, the ingrate Aamir Khan, showed a man playing Lord Shiva locked up in a toilet in PK. We tolerated that too.
Wife: So what is the way out?
Bala: I am a Hindu. I am not supposed to speak out my mind lest the secularists and the media pounce on me. I will be called intolerant if I speak the truth.
Everyone must watch and show to all the Modi haters more
