Withdrawals from EPF account is one issue. There is another issue relating to EPF. A lot many compnanies, in the first instance do not open a PF account of the employee after certain period of service. On the contrary they keep transferring the name of the employee from their one subsidiary company to another without the knowledge of the employee, and the employee does not know from which Head he is getting the salary. For opening EPF account, the employee needs to have put in certain days (about 208 days) which these transfers without the knowledge of the employee - because he is not educated enough to understand the law - he is deprived of the benefits of the EPF or Gratuity and other social benefits provided for the employees. Even after 8-10 years of service the employer (I am making a general statement based on experience learned from the husband of my maid help.) does not provide the EPF account number to the employee. Result: when the employee leaves the job, he has to run from pillar to post to get withdrawals from his EPF account, and in most cases he/she fails. In the event, if the employee leaves the company with a bad blood, he has had it. I would therefore like to draw the attention of this Local Circle to take up the issue at an appropriate level of authority. more

Shailendra and Raj Kishore ji, First point, the property where you are going to undertake renovation should be on your name or your spouse's name. Secondly get a quotation for renovation Thirdly how many years service you have put in will be considered, check they require minimum some 10 years service or like that. Exact years PF office will inform you if you go and ask for Form 31. Fourth, Get Form 31 from the PF office and fill up the same with required enclosure like address proof, ID proof, bank proof alongwith Property documents zerox, and submit with PF office. Approach near PF office. Dont' worry about where your property is located. All the best more
