Recently I have applied for my cibil report.i got it with a wrong report. That is though I have not applied nor received any loan from Kotak Mahindra Bank the report shows that i have taken a loan from Kotak Mahindra Bank. and the loan amt is written off and shown as a defaulter. Can anyone suggest what steps should be taken. I've pointed out the discrepancy to Cibil by email. But i am yet to receive a reply. I'm waiting for more than 1 week to hear from Cibil. more

I had a similiar issue in CIBIL except SBI messed it up instead of KOTAK in my case. I had to write to SBI and threatened to report them to ombudsman if they don't get it sorted out with CIBIL. they eventually did but it took me almost 6 months. They themselves got it rectified with CIBIL. more
Most of the financial institutions unable to read the CIBIL report properly. All the information provided by CIBIL is the information from the f/institutions. if the f/institution not providing the correct information the report always show only a wrong information....It has happened to me also. more
CIBIL is only a repository as such it is advisable to reach out to the customer service team of Kotak and engage with them. In case the loan has not been availed kindly share your KYC details ( only once asked for by Kotak ). Only Kotak can send across the rectification to CIBIL. more
Until unless you report on their website your problem will not be solved by them. more
