Hi all, I had worked for about 3 years in a company and my PF is credited to govt maintained EPFO a/c, later i have changed my company which is having PF trust of its own, later i have transferred the PF amount to new company's trust using the new online transfer option, the status went on as shown in below 3 stages:-
1) approved by previous employer
2) approved by present employer
3) rejected by EPFO officer and reason not available in database.

so I have raised a grievance with the EPFO website seeking reason for rejection, to my shock they replied me saying a check no.-XXX with amount-XXX has already been released, they also have sent me the annexture-k, i have showed the same to my present employer and asked for their comment, they said no cash has been received so far.

Please help me in identifying the root cause for the non-transfer of my amount.
The main situation where I was confused was the claim status shows it has been rejected, but when asked they are saying they have already released the cheque, and my present employer is denying it.

Please let me know if it takes time for the cheque to get cleared, because it is already 3 month from the cheque release date and still no money transfer.

Thanks in advance for your help. more

Dear Lokesh, Generally this is the practise by the EPF office. They try to mislead the things. I am sure in your case this is happened. Pl. follow up with them alongwith the bank details/ trust details in the favour of whom the cheque was issued & prove that no transaction has taken place. Then they will issue the fresh cheques which will be genuine. But in the whole process you have to keep a close watch. Pl. try the process it works. I had faced the same situation. The difference was that I tried to withdraw the amount. In your case it is transfer. more
I have been deprived in getting interest on Rs 9,21,000/-which was Closing balance as on 31 st March 2011 in a separate account remained transferred in to existing new EPF account of same EPFO office .EPFO transferred this amount as such after 8 months in existing account and denied paying interest on being declared separate EPF account of same EPFO as linoperative account .I got the final amount deposited in my SBI account on 29 th February 2012 . EPFO has stopped paying interest on such account which remained inoperative for three years ( 36 months )which is unclaimed , But in my case EPFO ,contribution deposited in year 2009-2010 in the said EPF account ,this way it can not be said inoperative for 3 years on 31 St March 2011.but they treated in inoperative saying the contribution deposit is of previous year 2002- 2004 which was not deposited due to service matter which later on as per SC orders our services were regularised with no any break . This way EPFO is arbitrarily dealing the matter resulting interest loss to the members like me is really injustice to me . On one side huge amount is lying unclaimed and other side genuine case as in my case are not attended and ignored citing most impractical rule treating EPF account as inoperative . I do agree the huge amount lying with EPFO which is unclaimed stopped paying interest wef 1 St April 2011,but denting paying interest after 1st April of gwnunine cases like us who has claimed amount can not be deprived of giving interest at least and the balance amount should be paid with interest applicable at that time ( 9.5%) in the best interest of EPF member making full justice in the said case . EPF experts may focus on this issue and take up the issue on to priority in interest of all . My employer had deposited amount around Rs 44,000/-/ in earlier separte EPF account which they treated as contribution deposit of earlier year of 2002 -2004 arrears more
Dear Mr. Lokes, RTI (Right to Information ) is very simple. Request through an application seeking the status of your claim with claim reference number by addressing the application to Public Information Officer alongwith RTI fee and send the application by speed post. RTI fee for most of the department is just Rs. 10/- which can be paid by postal order. In case you feel any difficulty please let me know. You can send the particulars at my email id. more
what is an RTI, and how does it help me, please explain, thanks. more
It seems EPFO is manipulating in the sense that like any other services, they also have benchmark. In case EPFO is unable to meet deadlines, they update with rejection of the claim and then again reenter for having received claim again with those objections cleared. So practically new receipt of the claim become for the calculation of benchmark. EPFO must be giving you correct information on release of cheque. You will also be getting a copy of the claim settlement by post. Wait for sometime say about two more weeks. If you do not get any response, file an RTI. more
