1.25% charges on online payment by debit Cards

One person had to pay Rs 20000 /- tax to Municipal Corporation . He is inspired by Digital payment evolution in our Country . He go to online payment mode . He wish to pay by his debit card . During online procedure he found that he has to pay 1.25% charges for debit card payment i.e. he has to pay Rs 250 /- as online payment charge . Now this Rs 250 /- is extra financial load for my friend . He cancelled the payment mode and decided to go to Municipal corporation and pay cash which will cost about Rs 25 /- i.e cost of petrol .

Without changing our old system . how will we bring a change . more

Mr Mahen, I always use nationalised bank to do property tax payment and they never charge me any transaction fee. May be because my tax liability was below Rs. 10000/-. I agree that they charge for NEFT transactions. Due to that reason I use cheque to transfer my money from nationalised bank to any other account. I know this is time consuming and need to visit bank. more
Payments to all Government , Educational and Healthcare Sectors shall be made Charge Free . Other Business and Personal Payments are also to be like existing rates prior to 8th Nov. if not paid by Cheques . We have to think of the continued charges of Cheque Collection Charges , Draft issue Charges , Mail Transfer Charges etc., more
Hello ! Everybody , Sir / Madam , In this case-study of a Friend of Mahen Patle , it is easier said than done that only Rs.25/- for petrol cost will have to be incurred to go to the Municipal Corporation . But then , one should be concerned about the long-queue-length over there , the amount of waiting time at one's disposal , the cost of returning home safely , the unforeseen road-motor-accidents internal to ' to & fro' travelling , traffic jams , postponements of other engagements of the day to the inconvenience of others , likely medical expenses if any incidents like theft / pickpocketing take place and so on . more
Mr Shailendrakumar , it requires Rs 5/- per transaction for Corporation tax . Net banking also attracts charges in many cases . RTGS /NEFT also attract charges . Ultimately common man has to pay additional charges . Everyone can not use net banking everywhere any time . Wherever charges are applicable are to be minimized . I support digital payments modes but it should be free of charge as cash transaction . Then only people will like to use it . we have to sort out better ways for betterment of Citizen . more
Agree. The process and procedure needs to be reviewed given the new circumstances. more
