The step is a welcome step only if every rs collected is spent on reducing pullution levels more
Everything here is illogical when you analyze it - when you can not even ensure false certifications why have such hefty fines..... more
Very correct and acceptable step. True that vehicle owners should not be able to get False certificates by paying extra money. Checking of Exhaust gases takes only a few seconds, since no certificate is to be issued, the traffic Police must be suitably equipped for instantaneous check of exhaust gases where ever they have doubts. more
Main thing is inefficiency in implementation. If you vehicle is not giving smoke and you don't have certificate, you will be fined. Very strange. Main thing is how much accurate these PUC. May be only 20 percent. In some cases vehicle is giving smoke which is visible and certified as non-polluting. Rubbish policy and may be these are made to loot mangoman. There are policies only to collect money how much as possible. more
Lack of vision, giving rise to nonsense policies, inefficiency in implementation, lead to finally draconian policies and rules. Admin is exasperated. People just don't follow rules...at the same time they don't talk back to admin. And as always, anything done by govts always appears stupid, pointless...or draconian...I thought this stage in our nation's evolution is transitory, but now it appears like this state of affairs is permanent....this seems to be the norm. more
