10 year old diesel vehicles scrapping is unjust

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) lifts the ban on construction and demolition activities across NCR and the ban on entry of trucks into Delhi with immediate effect but they want all of us who have a 10 yr old diesel vehicle (with 15 year registration) to suffer. I will scrap the vehicle if you pay 5 years of my registration cost. Will you CM Delhi or NGT?? more

Government/ SC/ NGT wants to reduce pollution at our cost which is certainly not fair. Vehicles must be allowed till validity of their registration. If it is indeed a very serious matter then the government must compensate owners of such vehicles proportionate to remaining life .🇮🇳 more
In fact the pollution is due to all dirt lying on roads and when any vehicle passes over the dust keep flying and pollute the air. For diesel cars it is just like kicking the cat. Where all the vacuum cleaners of Delhi Govt. have disappeared? Let the roads and footpaths be clear of all dust I am sure the quality will improve drastically more
Yes, it is right. Delhi Government has to give compensation of 5 years for those vehicle which is registered for 15 days and Govt. want to deregister it's RC after 10years. This is very unfair & unjust. more
Thank you. Glad this topic has been brought up. Switch to CNG or electric vehicles. Diesel vehicles are cause of pollution. Environmental cost was made up with the planet's future! People were busy enjoying the huge subsidy on the fuel until the year 2014 while those of us owning petrol cars and 2 wheelers paid almost double, diesel gives more mileage per litre while was about 2/3rd the price, for driving same distance. Petrol even today proves about 30% costlier. Here's the deal. Let those converting to EVs through retrofitting, be allowed continuing with same retrofitted vehicle. more
Infact let the govt scrap only the commercial and polluting vehicles. Why the private vehicle. First the owner pay the EMI for 5 years with hard earned monies. By the time he recover and enjoy the ride the Vehicle will start asking for maintenance. Pay heavy maintenance, Insurance cost for next ten years and finally put it in scrap. Why can't the govt set a benchmark for re registration in terms of polution. Also is govt sure about that the polution will be eradicated once the vehicles are scrapped. Will ngt and supreme court give guarantee for the same. Its the automobile industry loby which is influencing the authorities. Same is going to be in the case of EV. They will not promote the conversion of existing petrol and diesel vehicles into EV, which will cost less (around 50%) of the new EV vehicles. Else who will buy new EV. more
