1-2 lakh fine for selling local sweets without best before date

After our efforts in this circle in 2018-19 apparently fssai passed a rule where all local sweet shops must display best before date and this went into effect in June 2020.

If they dont comply there is a fine of 1-2 lakh rupees. Can all FDA officers be added in this circle so we can complain and they can act. more

Dear Madam, If there is a penal provision, it must be enforced lest it may become redundant. There must beat least an email/ WhatsApp address/ Toll free number to which the affected persons can voice their complaints, even though Sri Jayakumar Daniel's suggestion of raising it in this forum and compiled by forum manager to raise it with appropriate authorities is not bad. more
Great news. The administration should make oit mandatory for one of the office staff to go through the posts appearing in Safe Food & Nutrition. So ththat person can officially forward it to the concerned Person / Dept. more
We do have endless laws and rules to be complied with by every citizens, traders, service providers and so on & so forth. Even we have not yet repelled hundreds of laws of British era with our own ones. Laws mean carrying provisions for punishment for the law breakers and/or the law evaders but none of us bother for compliance, neither the common man nor the concerned government agencies ensure compliance thereof. I think, if not 100%, not less than 90% of the sweet shop keepers don't comply with the stipulated provisions but how many of the consumers had bothered and abandoned their shopping and lodged a complaint with the respective authorities against such law breakers ? Unless we, the common man, become alert and suspend our shopping from such shops, the laws alone won't be enough to bring the required changes/improvement. more
