Neelam ji, Thank you for your good wishes. You are experienced about this so am sure you are right. I can only pray and hope that I may not need to use the medical insurance...too many times :-). The agent through whom I did my insurance(s)(various ones) has so far been very good at getting my claims settled very promptly; so here is hoping that may be done for medical too. Best regards to you. Anita Mehta more
A Mehta ji , Wishing you good health & long life & Hoping that you do not have to interact with any medical insurance agent to get back Your Money paid over the years as premium.Aankho Dekhi at Private Hospitals where only connected few get the money ,that too after deductions made under some pretexts (un) known to seniors more
Thank you all for your very useful suggestions. I had looked at Policy Bazar.com before posting. Wanted information regarding positive experience with a provider. more
I somewhat agree with Dr, Neelam Nath on one count about being exploited ( but that can happen without the policy too!); however, it would also depend on the age of the senior citizen. I took a health policy two years back and am paying a premium of around 23000/- per year. Even if I were to live for another ten years and not pay a premium- the maths says that I may save 2,30,000/- only which is no saving atall! It is better to take a policy as a senior citizen and not when young and pay premium for years to come... more
While reading carefully all terms and conditions, extra care should also be taken while filling up the proposer form. Importantly fill up the form yourself and all material information be disclosed properly to tne best of your knowledge and belief. Coming to the question of mediclaim policy, it shall be preferable if you can take group policy in the name of the younger son/daughter including names of the parents in the group. more
