Malpractices in Refunds Processing

1. Many companies don’t refund the security deposit at the end of the service term
2. Many e-commerce websites give store credits instead of refunding money
3. Some shopkeepers just refuse to take back their products and refund the money
4. Some websites offer a trial period on their products and offer 100% money back guarantee but the refund takes a long time to get processed
5. Some Government portals take months to refund the money
6. Most of the airlines deduct a major amount while processing refunds
7. Some vendors offer full refund if the customer does not like the product but make deductions at the time of actual processing
8. Refunds from railways have always been a big question mark more

Most of the sales team although offer refund in case of defective products / items etc., practically more than 90% does not comply with that and instead they will ask you to purchase other item for the product value more  
Government departments, such as, BSNL. MTNL. Electricity Boards etc. are the biggest trouble makers in refunding the security deposits made with them. Indian rails is much better in refunding the money against cancellation of tickets. more

I had this experience few years back with Amazon, where they did not refund all of the money.... rather Rs.500 was given as gift coupon with a validity date. more  
My experience with AMAZON.in is very good..they are very prompt in effecting refunds in case u return the Product with in the time limit specified by them.
