It is Very sad that Over the years MCD has become a defunct organization in Delhi.. regardless of any political party.. They neither seem to have any awareness nor the willingness to implement basic Waste Management and Waste Disposal measures. Their responsibilities are not known nor well defined and their contacts are not made available to common citizens. Their responsibilities also seem to rest in fragments across MCD .. DDA.. PWD and so on.. with no accountability under one HEAD - who needs to keep the capital city clean and free of diseases and epidemics.
The problems are growing every year and becoming unmanageable... be it garbage dumps lying around, heaps of construction debris, poorly maintained parks, Green belts becoming garbage dumps, blockages in drainageage system, lack of regular measures such as fumigation for addressing mosquito menace .. Its high time someone responsible stepped in and took control of the situation... to get a massive cleaning up done on the ground across the city, that goes beyond media hype and publicity. more

People have sense that where there is politics no work is justified. Politicians and municipal authorities have good relationship. They protect each other. A powerful politician get done the works in his territory to get the publicity and popularity. He is elected uninamosouly for the years to together. It is better to vote for the ruling party in the state to get done the works. But people are misguided by false promises and suffer the development of the area. more
We have lost the art of thinking as a system but in compartments. True the waste should get properly collected but if citizens are reluctant to segregate wet and dry garbage. there is some effort to collect garbage. At least in my area I see it. But what happens after this collection? All collection is put together into a huge dump which can compete with hillock. It is left to rot by itself and for children to play. At the sane time gutters keep getting choked and even if these get cleaned the muck is dumped and left by its side for it to flow back and choke the flow. Crores were spent in cleaning mithi river but authorities left the pollution source, factories, untouched. So within no time mithi was back to its old ways. Yesterday I was on Juhu beach. There is considerable effort put to keep the beach clean but one can still see the effect of vacationing crowd of the holidays. There are three bins all overflowing. for a city like Mumbai it does not have waste disposal facilities to process en=ven 10th of collection. In another city I was visiting waste disposal plant and saw it is not in use. Why, they ran out of chemicals meant for one year in three months. Somebody told me these were sold in black market. more
It's misfortune of Indian politics. Sri Sri Ravishnkar will be charged in the name of spoiling environment near Jamuna river. They turned over the fish on Sri Sri but they will hide their insane activities. Why Kejriwal didn't find for mismanagement for the garbage and cleanliness in Delhi so far? There is lot of enarchy in Delhi. Common public is not so aware and support them who declares more false promises. more
