This is happening daily. Just because in this case media persons were the target, so much publicity was given to this incident. Mobile snatching from pedestrians and even those travelling in autos and e-Rikshas is common. Thak thak gang has been in operation where by car tyres are punctured or some oil is thrown on the sides and driver is told about oil leakage or flat tyres. The moment driver parks the car and opens the door to come out to check, the bag or other things are swiftly removed and he is left helpless on the road. The police is aware of these modus operandi of the criminals but only since last some time Police has started giving advisories through print media cautioning the general public about these hazards. Unfortunately, our Criminal Procedure Code was written in British days and is now incapable of dealing with the present day crimes. The Code has to be re-written if crimes like rape, snatching, road -rage, burning public property etc are to be controlled and stopped. Police has lost the kind of fear it used to have in public mind. Incidents of Police beat getting beaten by the criminals are becoming common due to political interference. The Police is very much aware of all this but is helpless for different reasons which vary from complicity due to gratification or poor infrastructure of the Police Deptt or political pressures. more

I do not know Delhi Police organisation structure. It should have clear cut roles for important activities . Patrolling is one , earmarked force, trained, equipped , practised Standard Operating Procedure . more

It should be a wake up call for Delhi Police. If this can happen to ABP News Vehicle normal citizens would definitely get scared. This also reflects the Law and Order situation in the Capital. Delhi Police should strengthen the existing patrolling system. more

There is a need to change the attitude of Delhi Police personnel against a crime. I believe they act against a crime as per their convenience. more
