They brought huge stone blocks and unloaded same in front of my residence wanting to put up a pillar there without my prior permission/notification. The pillar would block pedestrian movement and my rights under the Law of Easements 1882 since I am resident since 1957 in CIT Colony. Instead of heeding our requests to provide a new cable dated 17th and 30th August and 5th November 2012
the Alwarpet substation decided to erect a pillar right in front of my residence. This happened 10th Nov 2016.
To my complaints of 11/11/2016 the AE, Alwarpet maintains she did not wish to place the pillar before my house but on the border between my neighbour and my house, which is an afterthought since the pavement outside my residence bears the indentations of the heavy stones.
She also claimed over 'phone that the existing cable is 5 feet below the ground, but in her letter No.AE/O&M/Alwarpet/F.Doc/D.N:468/2016 dated 5/12/2016 she states its 4 feet below the ground so its difficult to attend to complaints, hence the pillar. We residents have seen the cable lies hardly
1.50 feet below the ground level. Also one pillar is already erected by them two houses away, so why one more pillar?
We pointed out that the presence of falling boughs and surface roots would be hazardous to us residents as the pillar would be deleteriously affected. On 12/12/2016 heavy rains and wind gusts brought down a tree and several tree boughs, and if the pillar had been erected we senior citizen residents would have been electrocuted since the exposed wires would have transmitted electricity to our compound walls and iron gates. A tree fell on the transformer on First Main Road and while attending to it the bulldozer broke the transformer. We are without power since afternoon of 12/12/2016. I am using the sine wave inverter to communicate this. It is plain that many government bodies like TANGEDCO do not prioritise service to the consumer and take us for granted.

From my experience with TANGEDCO whose power fluctuations have ruined several of my appliances like automatic phase changers, washing machine, refrigerator, electric meters.I would rate them negatively, since they are not delivering their required service. Also they are illegally overcharging us through penalty on units exceeding 100 or 500 units per bill when the bill is bi-monthly instead of monthly. Also they thought they could just put up the pillar
and go away without telling me.
