Senior Citizens PO / Bank scemes

Senior citizens who do not get pension have to depend on their meager retirement benefits and interest earned on them. But, now the interest rates on SCSS and MIS have been drastically reduced putting extreme hardship on senior citizens. Please revise the interest rates to senior citizens to at least 10 %. Also think of giving additional ad hoc amount every month to pension-less senior citizens. Matter urgent. Finance ministry has put us in lurch in these days of growing cost of living.

Senior citizens will have overcome inflation to keep their standard of living. So some more incentives on tax can be given.

I have written many a times to the concerned authorities regarding the hardships faced by senior citizens regarding their sustenance income which is only their life long savings. Erosion of rate of interest day by day make them vulnerable to poverty. The government must give various concessions to them to make their last days happy, at least remove them from income tax payments and TDS.
