Several complaints have been lodged through the CM's Special Cell, Collector of Chennai, PMO's PG Portal concerning the numerous problems the residents of our neighborhood have been facing from the cluster of 3 Tasmac Shops and Bars located right opposite to the Perambur Railway Station, Perambur Chennai 11. While many petitions were accepted and we were promised of some good news in the near future, the others were rejected with an explanation that everything is as per norms. A portion of one of the Bar's attached to Tasmac Shop 255 is operating in open air and is visible from the adjacent buildings in the neighborhood. As per "The rule 10(3) of the Tamil Nadu retail Vending of Liquor (in shops and bars) makes it mandatory that every bar shall be housed in Pucca building and no part of the bar shop should be thatched. It also mandates that the bar should be sufficiently screened so that the consumption of liquor is not visible to Public." The Deputy Collector attached to DM Chennai North had called us for a meeting on the 6th Sept 2016. The concerned officer was supposed to inspect the location in our presence on the 7th Sept 2016, we have been waiting for her over the last few days.
