Garbage collection is primarily done by the local private builder associations or the RWAs... the municipalities don't do a thing in the colonies of Gurgaon as officially the colony has not been handed over to them ...eg Sushant Lok, DLF etc though we are compelled to pay property tax to the municipality. So there are monthly charges collected that include collection of waste from houses and we are at the mercy of the se garbage collectors... 1. They choose the time of collection (people who are office goers leave the garbage bag on the street and these are often rummaged by the street dogs. 2. They also decide what they want to take.. eg broken glass, adult diapers do not meet their approval so are often thrown on empty plots. 3. The sweepers who clean the roads do not pick up the dead leaves and plastic and are only swept aside as they are to be collected by "others" who come in tractors. Often this takes a couple of days or even a week by which time the swept aside garbage is back on the streets! 4. This collection of garbage has no designated place for disposal and invariably an empty land is used for the purpose 5. No body knows what are the rules for disposing off construction waste which meets a similar fate. I would like to know where is the municipal participation in this respect?
there is no garbage collection civic body in DLF Phase 3,Sector 24,Private person comes charges Rs 150 per month for collection. I think garbage disposal has a considerable cost on citizens. This factor should be reduced to promote swatch bharat mission further
The Sohna Road is full of filth, there is sewer leakage all the time, trash by road side vendor is a menace. There are no trash cans at any crossings or food stalls. Walk ways made just one year ago is broken and cars are parked on footpath.
