Lakhs of commercial establishments are functioning in residential buildings with zero parking space thus causing horrible traffic congestions and completely destroying quality of life in the immediate surrounding areas. Lakhs of buildings are almost touching each other thus reducing lighting and ventilation levels to almost zero. lakhs of buildings have completely encroached the walkways along their compound walls.

Less said the better. The very silence by the GHMC on the public land being usurped by private citizens for their personal use is ignored. A supervisor had fined me for cutting the road when I had to repauir my water pipe line, which I paid along with the prescribed fees for the road that was cut and dug. But the road remains as it is today, even after payment except a slipshod work. On the contrary, a lot other illegal occupation of public places, like the pedestrian walk for barricading and gardening, raising a ramp to facilitating the entry of vehicles into homes, particularly in colonies goes unchecked and un challenged. These ramps particularly obstruct the walkers from using whatever little space is left for pedestrians and are forced to walk on the carriage way, risking themselves to accidents. In many a case, most the raps even project on to the main roads, thereby reducing the ccarriage path, causing avoidable traffic snarls withinthe colony roads.
