Cuttack Municipal Corporation

I have a different opinion. Don't know if CMC in general to be blamed or not but few families, our family in particular are suffering from poor garbage disposal in our area of Mohanty Lane, Kesharpur, Cuttack-1. The Sweeper in duty carries only a part of the garbage and dumps a major portion in a vacant plot adjacent to our house. Other people in the locality also dump their waste in the plot which has been raised by about 4-5 feet. Needless to say that it has become an ideal breeding ground for mosquitoes and foul smell. Recently the drain in our lane was widened. They broke our existing steps and slabs and the contractor promised to cover the drain with slabs. They sealed the mouth of one of our drains when we were not present. Later he said he will recover it. Although 2 months have elapsed the Contractor is absconded and we are facing a lot of troubles. I demand that the drains are properly covered with slabs, a dustbin may be provided in our sub lane and the plot be cleaned fully.

Cuttack Municipal Corporation is doing a very difficult of job of keeping one of the oldest cities of the country clean. The corporation has to do much more to ensure that the city earns a place for itself in the league of top Global cities. Modernization drives and enabling citizen awareness are important priorities for the corporation.
