Chandigarh Municipal Corporation

Municipal corporation is unable to maintain and update its website. The commissioner's post does not have a fixed tenure of atleast 3 years or 5 years to turnaround and overhaul the organisation. The advisor or administrator as the final authority to appoint or remove the commissioner is himself unaccountable for non performance--Sept 2018 rating

Chandigarh is fast becoming a city of Railings, Benches, Garden slides etc . There is hardly any space where railings have not been provided. One fails to understand the purpose of these railings . Similarly very large number of benches have been provided in every nook and corner . You will not find more than 10 percent occupied at any given time . A lot of Children play equipment have been provided which are hardly being used . Lots of public money is being wasted . It would have been much better if this money was utilised for other important facilities

City Roads and streets cleanness is much batter and Improving in Chandigarh day by day but I still feel MC needs to employ some more person to take care of it especially when session changes. Also they can plan to put more garbage collection bin in residential area during morning hours and arrange to lift the same within 2 hours to avoid foul smell.

Although better than many cities yet it lacs in its basic duty. Roads and streets are not cleaned on daily basis and whenever cleaned the garbage is dumped on roadsides. Despite ban on burning waste one can find the MC employees burning the same. Special attention is required to clean the area where the bin are placed by the MC as no care is taken to clean this place even at the time of lifting the garbage.

Garbage collection is claimed to be the best in chandigarh by MC but despite tall claims the same is not lifted daily. Also at the time of lifting no care is taken to clean the area which results in foul smell and mosquitos breeding. One can find cows and stray dogs around Garbage Binns at almost all points
