The autos are the true menace, else rest is fine. Sometimes buses do not obey the traffic rules. It would have been better if the bus would take passenger from designated stoppages, although the commuters should also board from the right stops. Things like this has to be implemented if Bidhannagar has to be a Smart City.

It is much peaceful

The autos and public buses do not obey any traffic rules.Add to that jaywalkers and people waiting on the road for buses make driving a nightmare in Kolkata.Many busstands are occupied by vagabonds.So senior citizens and ladies all wait on the road.Police not interested in solving any problems.Drivers of buses speed away .No one can stop them.

It is not only properly crossing a traffic signal. Violations of all types, such as, driving with mobile phone conversation, taking short cut U turn at islands, cycle rickshaws moving at the middle of the road, speeding from behind with continuous honking, overtaking from left, and occupying the front of the vehicle. None of the offences are booked. Auto rickshaws still occupy at least half width of the road near Karunamoyee, causing difficulties for vehicular movement.

Both Bidhan Nagar Police and Kolkata Police urgently need Police Reform. At present they behave like an entity of TMC. During last year panchayat election and presently during the national election, several cases of unprofessional conduct have been witnessed.

SIR MOST OF THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL ARE NOT REQUIRED IN SALT LAKE . THESE SIGNAL ARE CAUSING TRAFFIC JAM IN SALT LAKE. SOME TIME WHEN SIGNALS ARE NOT WORKING , IN THAT EVENT WE SEE NO TRAFFIC JAM AT ISLANDS . PLEASE CONSIDER THIS. THE RESPONSE OF POLICE TOWARDS CHAIN SNATCHING , PICKPOCKET IS VERY VERY CASUAL.
