Parking at Secunderabad Railway Station
I parked my car at the railway parking lot at the station this morning. First it was tough to find a spot and there was no one to guide. Only one person was sitting at the entrance issuing entry tickets and since it was around 5:30AM, it was still dark. Took some time to find a spot.
When returning, there was a long queue for payment and when queried, the attendant started screaming that we have to wait. It took more than 15 minutes just to pay the charges and leave the lot. This was after having to wait for 1 1/2 hours for the train to arrive (see my earlier post). Hence it just made the situation worse.
Is there no better option than having one window for payment when so many trains arrive in the morning times at this station? I guess just outsourcing the parking to a 3rd party and not looking into the needs of the travelers is not the right way to go about it. Some inspection on a periodic basis would be quite helpful and the personnel at the parking area could be trained to handle situations such as this, with multiple payment slots for easy movement of traffic.
Hope the GM at Secunderabad or whoever is in-charge of this can look into this alleviate the passengers troubles. more
