I blame the farmers

Farmers are to be blamed for their problems. I am from overseas but I am in the commodity business and understand farming. Whenever I read about farmers dying, crying, protest - I have no pity. They never took the trouble of learning better farming, no paanchayt bothered to educate them, and politicians & Jamindars want them to remain uneducated. They just want to take loans from bank but do not use it to upgrade their farming. My cousin is a Phd in agriculture in India and he said his work is hampered by politicians and bureaucrats- so what is the use of his skills?
They wait for rain but when it comes, they are complacent and think good days are always-do not manage rain water. Always expect govt to do something - they should do it first.
PM Modi traveled a lot to understand all this and wants to implement but oppositions just want to block and stir up the farmers to protest.
The stupid farmers do not realize how many man days they loose by coming to Delhi to protest.
When they get huge crops- the prices fall- this is normal. The consumer is for sure happy. There is a min price set- so be happy else you have to throw your produce on the street. Instead of blaming the govt for low min support price, they should sell their produce fast so that they have cash in hand to invest back in farming next year, as God is not going to be kind in giving rain every time. Educate the farmers to improve farming and use the loan to invest in their land and see the results. more

With a huge farming community the out reach of teaching modern farming is limited to just 10-25%.People who are traditional farmers ,farming labour with minimum survival earnings have no time, respite, inclination to go to a center or class to learn. Since we can blame all ,the doorstep farming education with govt s help and NGOs will fare better.Agressive training, financial aid only to progressive farmers as loan and not as one time waiver will help in taking to better farming methods with good yields. Present vote bank appeasement ,blackmail by rich farming leaders who head many farm groups and agitationistic approach will make govts bankrupt soon. The vicious circle has to be broken and let govts not practice free inputs, no tax, free electricity ,increasing support price with out raising their( farmers)responsibility to the nation. The example is crop burning and blame thrust on the govt for solution. more
Correctly said. If deny and stop Voting to the Party in Rule which did not Stop Adulteration of Seeds ; Which did not curb Adulteration of Fertilizers and Pesticides ; Which is not regulating Cropping methods and mandates to be away from Dumping crops on Roads and loosing even 80% rate ... Every Political Party have their own backed Agriculturists, Farmers and Cultivators either with Own Land ; Or possessed land on Tenancy ; Or the Contracted lands/ Crops . This indeed proves that the Post is absolutely Correct and the Justified . more
